Founded in 2006 by Danny Mazariegos and his father, Antigua Exotic Wildlife Rescue was born as the first center specialized in the rescue and rehabilitation of reptiles and amphibians in Guatemala. Located in Antigua Guatemala, our center was created with the purpose of combating illegal wildlife trafficking and promoting the conservation of native species.
Over time, our work has expanded to include the care of a wider variety of wild and exotic animals, including birds, mammals and other reptiles, many of which have been victims of illegal trafficking, abandonment or habitat loss. We work closely with local authorities and international organizations to ensure the welfare of these animals and their eventual reintegration into their natural environment.
Vision
That in the year two thousand twenty-five the entire infrastructure of AECEVIS, NGO is able to receive all types of wild and exotic fauna coming from seizures, rescues, voluntary deliveries, natural disasters, etc; in the four cardinal points, properly organized and equipped.
Mission
To be the facilitating entity through which to provide shelter, rehabilitation, treatment to wild and exotic fauna coming from confiscation, rescue, natural disasters, etc; and through which national and international aid can be channeled, seeking and ensuring that such aid reaches to strengthen both training and equipment, training and supplies; being able to comply with the law of decentralization of state resources.
